On Saturday, March 21, 2010, the Chesapeake Chorale presented "The World's Greatest Choruses" Our audience reveled in great choruses from the masters - Beethoven, Bach, Haydn, Mozart, Bizet, Verdi, Wagner, Donizetti and Thompson.
A silent auction titled "Treasures of the Chesapeake" preceded the concert. Our photo gallery shows the Chorale at work setting up in St. Matthew's UMC Fellowship Hall. Auction "honcho" Jean Binney supervised a hectic 90 minute period starting with"bare room" and ending "ready for the bidders." The auction was a success in many ways. Individuals and community businesses donated auction goods. Friends and supporters of Chesapeake Chorale bid. Auction winners took home their treasure. The proceeds were all the Chorale had hoped.
The Chorale sends its appreciation to all who made donations to the auction, to all the bidders, and especially to Jean Binney. Her effort and expertise made the auction a real success.
The Chorale also sends it appreciation to Robert Berinson who shot and edited the photographs below.
