On Sunday, June 12, 2011, the Chesapeake Chorale celebrated its 30th Anniversary by proclaiming in song “We Are The Music Makers”. The Chorale shared its joy of singing and marked 30 years of dedication to the musical and cultural life of Bowie.

A highlight of the concert was the world premiere of a Chorale-commissioned work – If Music Be The Food of Love - by the acclaimed American composer Libby Larsen. The audience showed its pleasure and appreciation throughout and with a standing ovation at the close of the concert.

A gala reception followed. Guests, former members, and members shared memories and honored Chorale founder Karen Landis, composer Libby Larsen and current Chorale leaders and members. A great time was had by all.
