Who is eligible?
Any high school or college student in the Bowie-Crofton area who loves to sing is eligible. Singers must pass an audition with the Artistic Director. Auditions include vocalizing, sight-singing and basic pitch recognition. Prepared solo pieces are not required. Auditions are scheduled following our two open rehearsals, in September and in January.
What costs are covered?
Annual chorale membership dues ($85.00); the costs of all sheet music for the year; and a stipend toward the purchase of concert attire.
What are the benefits?
Joining the Chesapeake Chorale will give a young singer varied singing experience and a taste of new repertoire. There are also opportunities to sing solo parts, or to use your expertise on an instrument. If you love singing with your school or church choir but want to branch out and try new styles and new challenges, the Chorale Scholarship Program could be a great fit for you.
